The educational material project “History on the screen” participates in the start-up accelerator program of the University of Tartu Pedagogicum Õpiveski.

Presentation of “Education on Screen” at the basic training for teachers of the Institute of Educational Sciences of the University of Tartu “Different teaching methods in humanitarian and social subjects – from goal to reflection”.

September

Participation in the education festival “Dare to Learn” in Helsinki, where we presented our projects and showed how to read and write texts in the digital age.

October

Launch of the educational platform “History on the screen” that is centered around Leelo Tungal’s novels and their screen adaptation “The Comrade Child” and explores how works of art mediate the past.

November

Publication of the digital educational material „Põrgu Jaani maailm“ about history, identity and culture based on Kaur Kokk’s feature film.

2017

February

The launch of Literature on Screen,  a digital learning platform that analyses the screen adaptation of Andrus Kivirähki’s novel “Rehepapp” “November” and focuses on the relationship between literature and film in culture.

March

Testing of the “Literature on the Screen” platform in Tartu schools (Hugo Treffner Gymnasium and Miina Härma Gymnasium).

April

Testing of the “Literature on the Screen” platform in Narva (Narva Soldino Gümnaasium).

May

Establishment of the non-profit organization MTÜ Kirjandus Ekraanil. 

September-December

The integration project “I remember”, during which an optional course for high school students “Art text as a mediator of historical memory” was conducted (Tallinn Jewish School, Tallinn Central Russian High School, Tallinn 32nd Middle School).

Workshop at the Pedagogicum teachers’ seminar of the University of Tartu “Modern approaches to learning and teaching”.

2016

December

Trainings for teachers “Literature and film” in Tallinn and Tartu. The training was aimed at the analysis of Rainer Sarnet’s film “November” and introduced the Transmedia research group’s new learning platform for teaching film adaptations.

2015

September

Transmedia research group is created at the Department of Semiotics of the University of Tartu.
